“Die Kunstbranche ist seine Branche – die des Künstlers.
Er erschafft, er gibt, etwas von sich.
Die Kunstbranche ist ihre Branche – die der Künstlerin.
Sie erschafft, sie gibt, etwas von sich.
Ohne sie gebe es das Kunstwerk nicht, ohne ihn ebensowenig.
Wieso lässt er sich in der eigenen Branche wie Dreck behandeln? Wieso lässt sie sich in der eigenen Branche wie Dreck behandeln?
Vor allem wenn sie doch beide wissen, dass Kunst Freiheit bedeutet! Wo sie doch beide wissen, dass ihr Schaffen nicht mit der Branche steht und fällt!”

Why does he allow himself to be treated like dirt in his own industry? Why does she allow herself to be treated like dirt in her own industry?
Especially when they both know that art means freedom! When they both know that their work does not stand and fall with the industry!”
Das Thema “Fair Pay” und der oft negative gesellschaftspolitische Blick auf “die Künstler” und der Umgang mit den Schaffenden in der eigenen Branche, bewog mich zu dieser aktivistischen Arbeit.
Die eigene Nachstellung des berühmten Fotos von Duchamps Arbeit “Fountain” diente als Leitmotiv für die Flugblätter, die ich in Wien an Orten, wo viele Künstler verkehrten, verteilte.
Die Arbeit “Fountain” im Kontext seiner Präsentation an der Jahresausstellung der “Société des Artistes Indépendants” und der damit verbundenen Diskussionen in den eigenen Reihen symbolisiert für mich einen Rundum-Befreiungsschlag eines Künstlers und sollte als Inspiration für die Künstler von heute dienen.
The topic of “fair pay” and the often negative socio-political view of “the artists” and the treatment of the creators in their own industry prompted me to do this activist work.
My own re-enactment of the famous photo of Duchamp’s work “Fountain” served as the leitmotif for the leaflets that I distributed in Vienna in places where many artists frequented.
For me, the work “Fountain” in the context of its presentation at the annual exhibition of the “Société des Artistes Indépendants” and the associated discussions in its own ranks symbolizes an all-round liberation of an artist and should serve as an inspiration for the artists of today.
